just got back from hwa chong's maf celebrations. took the night rider from bugis cos i was feeling too broke to take a cab. its my first time taking the night rider. NR7's new route stops directly in front of my house, so that means i can save on cab fare when i hang out late!!
went to AMK Hub today with mum and bro. we were going to eat sushi at the newly opened suki sushi outlet at AMK cos they were having a super hua suan promotion. unfortunately after we went all the way there, we realised tt the queue was 2 hrs long. siaoz.. so we ended up eating at soup restaurant instead. had my favourite samsui chicken and we tried the new dish 东坡肉. super fattening. the bill came up to 50 plus bucks although we only ordered 3 dishes plus rice. super shocking. i hate 7% GST.
after eating mum and i shopped ard AMK hub and the NTUC hypermart there. i suddenly decided to buy ingredients for sushi so that i can make sushi for my family to try tmr. haha! i hope i didnt forget how to make the sushi that HC130 made the last time. yisheng izzit 4cups of rice to 4cups of water? or izzit 3? so we bought jap rice, vinegar, cucumber, unagi and crab sticks. hopefully it will turn out ok. i m quite scared.
took 74 from AMK to Hwa chong for MAF! 71 had a v low-key maf this year. cos the turnout was the lousiest among all these years. haha~ maf clashed with lileng's dance concert in NUS, so the guys and suan already bought tickets to support lileng's performance. so basically only gilyn, junjia, aman, ailin and me were there to represent 04S71. haha first time we lost out to 03 and 05s71 in terms of attendance.
we talked to Mr Wong for awhile before ailin, gily, junjia and i headed off to island creamery for ice-cream before the light up. i had my fav teh tarik flavoured ice cream! yay~~ we went to pee after we reached HC, so we missed the light up. haha! din see the fireball. but the lightings this year are really nice!!
we stoned at the class bench for some time. haha. we keep asking ourselves whether izzit very pathetic if we just sat at the class bench throughout for MAf. haha so in the end we decided to walk ard. realised MAF is really v special cos almost EVERYONE comes back. got to see alot of pple that i havent seen for some time.
i went to join the councillors for the song and dance session. haha song and dance with councillors is always damn high. realised councillors know how to '自high' quite well. =))
frantic rush to take photos with diff groups of pple, ECACO, council, anat group, sec sch classmates. by the time i went back to the class bench i was super thirsty and losing my voice from all the shouting over the phone and cheering. ailin and i managed to con a 34th councillor into selling us a can of drink and a cup of corn for 50cents. haha!
junjia drove us down to meet the guys for supper. turned out that only damian came to join us though. haha~ chatted over prata and teh peng. we had a good laugh at mr wong's sms. here's how it goes:
'It was really nice seeing so many members of the class today. What I shall remember most about 71 is the solidarity of spirit shown and the sincerity of friendship shared. What impresses me too is the admirable humility of so many of you who are indisputably high achievers on your own terms. Wanted to catch up with all of you on a one-to-one basis, but think we were somewhat pressed for time today.. We'll meet again end of the year outside of college. Should be a nice change. Can meet for dinner at say, Marche or something.'
the idea of meetin with mr wong 'one-to-one' seriously scares me. i tink i prob need to bring along a dictionary. meeting up at marche sounds good though, though i wonder when we will ever get down to planning that meeting. heh~
funny though mr wong's sms may seem, i tink he simply phrased wat 71 pple really tink in more beautiful phrases and better vocab. i tink i agree mostly on the part on 'solidarity of spirit and sincerity of friendship'. so rock on, 04s71!! yay
