just back from stayover. been quite long since i last spent so much time with yy. rem how the 2 of us used to be almost inseperable in secondary school. =))
wed, met her to go to this orientation thingy tt the company synovate was holding. synovate is this research company which does market research for various companies all over the world. yy had a job there last yr, so we decided to go there to get a job to earn some extra bucks. haha i needed to earn some money to offset the sum of money i m going to spend in japan. =(( anw, the orientation was quite fun. haha~ the company actually does things like 'mystery shopper', on top of the usual survey stuff. i wanna be a mystery shopper! so fun. must act like a normal customer when u are actually evaluating the attitudes of the staff and other things liddat! muahaha~
was supposed to meet junjia and bowwow after the orientation thingy but both of them couldnt make it last min, so yy and i decided to head off to geylang to eat durians! haha~ so shiok! we ordered 3 durians~ got D24 ones. heh and shared a coconut~
the next day we met up to go to guess where-- singapore sciece centre! haha i havent been there since i was in pri sch. and everything there seemed to be so diff. i wonder if they changed alot of stuff or my memory is just failing me.
many of the exhibits there are so fascinating! haha~ i loved the i-space section the most. its an exhibit showing possible way of living in the year of 2031. super cool. there's this computer tt u can control by waving ur arms. its exactly like Tom Cruise in ' mission impossible'. haha! den the toilets in 2031 supposedly will become super smart. the toilet bowl will analyse ur shit and tell u whether anything is wrong with ur health. muahaha~ in 2031 doctors will be out of jobs! all replaced by toilet bowls.
yy and i had fun playing with the electrical drawing board there. super fun and super high tech. some of our 'masterpieces'
we went to almost all the exhibits in the science centre. went to the ecogarden and climbed up to the treehouse. still got nano technology, chemistry, the human body, robotics and many others! can u see leonardo davinci?

den we went to the cafe at the omnitheatre for dinner. the nasi lemak is yummy! caught the 7pm showing of 'the first emperor of china' at the omnitheatre. haha the show was pretty boring. abt qin shi huang. watching movie at omnitheatre makes my neck ache. haha and somehow its less impressive to me now. i rem i was super fascinated when i first stepped into the omnitheatre as a 8 year old.
den went to yy's hall in NTU! we watched half of 'casino royale' in her room before going down to this coffee shop for supper=)) hahaa. i had meatball porridge while yy ate the yummy ba chor mee there!
we finished watching casino royale before tuening in. chit-chatted in the dark before both of us KO-ed at abt 3 plus in the morning. haha~~ -Shin- 8:46 PM

i like the feeling of waking up to muscle aches. haha sounds abit psycho, but it's true. makes me feel like a healthy girl. i m hoping tt i will slowly regain my fitness such tt i dun feel the aches as much. and i m sleeping earlier now cos i tired from my swims/bball sessions. i shall stick to my healthy lifestyle for as long as possible. ;)
went gymming with qiuting today. did 25 min of 'fat burn' on the elliptical machine and another 25 min on the bike. but gymming bores me. so sian. i almost fell off a threadmill once cos i was watching tv while on the threadmill. so now i never ever watch tv while i exercise. but having nothing to do while i m cycling/running makes me super bored and i end up concentrating on thinking about how tired i am. bleahs.
after gym i went straight to the bball court to meet my bro and the 'usual gang'. played for another 2 hours. we played till it was too dark to see the basket. -Shin- 11:36 PM

went shopping at bugis with cuixi today. had to stop myself from spending unnecessarily. i banned myself from using my debit cards and i think this method works. shopping with cash makes me less prone to impulse buys. haha~
cuixi told me medical textbooks sold at the yunan bookstore in bras brasah complex are much cheaper than those sold in school, so we decided to stop by yunnan bookstore after shopping to buy textbooks for next yr. i ended up only buying my microbiology textbook. so happy tt its so thin.
now i officially have 2 textbooks for next year sitting proudly in my cupboard. =) i put them together with the rest of my M1 books and my silberberg and sloman (2 textbooks i bought in JC but never ever used). now one corner of my bookshelf looks like a bookshelf of a truly learned person. the other corners, however, are unfortunately still filled with comic books and other rubbish books i read as a teenager(eg RL Stine and Christopher Pike's horror stories). the 'learned corner' of my bookshelf~
thankfully i threw out my nancy drew, babysitters club, and enid blyton books last yr. phew. they would have looked terribly weird standing side by side with my textbooks, i think. -Shin- 9:37 PM

junjia and i went to the tour agency at chinatown today to pay the balance for the japan trip. din foresee tt we would end up spending a good 1 plus hour arguing with the person at the tour agency. thing is, the person at the tour agency nv told us tt there is the cut-off limit for the number of people deviating from the group (meaning extending the stay at japan); and we were nv told tt it was first come first serve. so now they decided to put us on waiting list cos they couldnt have more than 50percent of the pple in the tour deviating from the group and there was already 5 pple who are deivating. haizz. junjia was super angry. haha kept arguing with the guy. i ended up being pissed as well cos i cant believe how the guy totally missed our point even after we explained for ages. got so worked up i could literally feel my blood pressure rising.
we went for lunch at yum cha to cheer ourselves up. haha~ ordered loads of stuff. jj was still fuming. think we must have ordered alot, cos the waiter came over and asked whether we wanted to cancel some stuff off our orders. haha so nice of him. we cancelled 2 of the dim sum choices, but still struggled to finish the food. i loved the shark's fin dumpling soup though! we ended up taking away the glutinous rice and 2 of the cha siew shu.

popo came over to our house yesterday.. dad wanted to laze at home and mama wanted to chat with popo, so since we were bored and hungry, didi and i decided to go to tampines mall for a mini 'good-food session' by ourselves! haha~ dad was nice enough to sponsor 50 bucks! yayness. so we went to cafe cartel. haha~ i actually had cravings for more carbonara (i love cartel's carbonara), but changed my mind last min and ordered the oxtail stew instead. haha i m a fickle-minded girl.
we kept making the waiters and waitresses bring us bread. so paiseh. hehs.
after lunch didi wanted mcflurry. so since i had to wait for him to buy his mcflurry i ended buying a vanilla ice cream cone as well. bleahss.
at night i drove the whole family, including popo, to the fishhead steamboat place we always frequent. its dad's favourite! haha~ it was supposed to be a father's day treat! =)) i still cant park without instructions from dad~ bleahss. if i drive out by myself i will have to leave the car by the roadside. haha~ popo praised my driving skills! hehe~ proud sia. halfway through dinner an housefly suddenly flew into one of the bottles of chrysanthemum tea we ordered. argggh! it remained floating and struggling there the whole time. didi, popo, dad and i were v amused. we kept thinking if the housefly was trying to commit suicide cos it couldnt get to eat our yummy fishhead steamboat. haha~ mama was disgusted though.
i picked up the $62 bucks tab! haha felt so grown up, like the 'yi jia zhi zu'.
played 3 hrs of ball today. ahhh i have 3 blisters on my feet and i think i sprained my back! haha! playing ball makes me feel so relaxed and happy. rem i used i play whole day long with my teammates and not feel tired~ -Shin- 9:19 PM

watched '200 pounds of beauty' yesterday on crunchyroll cos i have heard raving reviews abt the show. v nice! one of the best korean shows i watched. funny and touching at the same time. cried towards the end of the show. i havent cried while watcing a movie since 'i not stupid 2'. haha~

yesterday went swimming with qiuting. on our way to the swimming complex we shopped ard and qiuting bought some tops from a shop. she was just paying when the shop assistant suddenly turned to me and asked whether i was from east view primary. haha! i totally couldnt recall who she was! just felt tt the way she talked was v familiar. she said i was a 'very clever girl who always went up to get prizes'. haha! i was quite paiseh in front of qiuting but secretly happy. muahaha~~ not the clever girl part but the fact tt she recognises me means i have not aged!! happy happy~
anyway swimming in the evening means that there were quite alot of kids there having their swimming lessons. pretty amused to see the 'pajamas kids' haha they were making floats with their pajamas pants. i remember i used to do it too. qiuting and i were commenting tt its pretty stupid. like wats the probability of a person drowning while wearing pajamas? erpps. anw we swam 20 laps! so happy. i felt thinner after swimming =)) after swimming we went for teh tarik nearby. den bought food back from the pasar malam near whitesands. haha i love pasar malams! otah, tapioca cakes, taiwanese sausages and muah chee!! yumms.
finally finished watching the 2nd season of prison break at night. watched till like 3 am. bleah~thought the 2nd season was not as nice as the first. but nevertheless the series kept me on the edge of my chair for most parts. the plot is soo clever!!
Today finished the book 'tuesdays with morrie'. i read it super slowly cos i wanted to remember inspirational quotes from it. i teared abit when morrie died, cos somehow i was reminded of gonggong. in the afternoon went to bugis with mama cos she wanted to go to the temple. i went to read one of the books for explaining the 'qian' out of curiosity. soo cheeem! din understand anything~ haaha. i nv tried to qiu qian. seems like fun. maybe i will try someday. then went to play ball! haha i feel like a fit girl now been exercising almost everyday. junjia and i are going swimming every week! qiuting and i gg swimming/jogging! on other days i shall make it a point to go play ball! muahaha~
i have a missing piece of skin on the sole of my foot now though. hurts like crazy. bleah.. playing ball barefooted for 2 hrs is a bad idea. =((

spent my day at my uncle's place playing with jasper, amanda and aloysius. been so long since i last saw jasper! i had fun playing with barbie dolls with jasper and amanda. feel so deprived. i have never played with barbie dolls when i was young. muahaha~ i played alot of catching though. i tink barbie's butt is too big. makes it pretty hard to take off/put on clothes for her! my cousins kept struggling so i ended up being the one playing most of the time. den played golf cum hockey with them with the mini toy golf set. haha felt like a slave for the kids cos they kept hitting the ball such tt its stuck under the sofa and i had to get the ball for them. tiring stuff.
den went off to plaza sing to meet yuenmei, yisheng and mollie for dinner and ocean's thirteen! haha the guys were treatin movie! yay~ had dinner at cafe cartel.. bowwow dared yisheng to write '2 handsome guys to serve' on the order paper. haha it was hilarious. yisheng said the girl at the counter sniggered when she saw the remark. i din dare to turn around to look. haha~~ bowwow was too stressed out at her childcare centre job and seemed to be lamer than her usual lame self. so she kept saying lame stuff and yisheng kept laffing. mollie and i were bewildered. haha~~ den she made a weird sound when a quite good-looking waiter served us drinks. haha! all of us had to stop ourselves from laughing out loud in front of the waiter.
den off we went for the movie! ocean's thirteen has a clever plot. v witty. though i was abit lost for some parts. i was sitting on the second right-most seat on our row. den this group of guys walked in and one of them sat next to me--alone--while the rest went to sit somewhere else. haha~ so kelian. we were jokingly saying i should turn and ask him ' are u lonely'. but i was too hum.
had to say my goodbyes to the rest hurriedly in the lift cos i almost forgot tt i gotta get to basement 2 to get to the mrt station. haha~ i missed the 2nd episode of campus superstar! =(( -Shin- 4:57 PM

the last sentosa outing with 04s71 was almost like half a year ago. so happie to meet up with the 'usuals' again on sunday to go to our fav island! i havent seen mao for so long!
junjia and i deliberately planned to be late and meet up with the others straight at sentosa (cos we wanted to sleep late), so i was quite surprised when the rest said they were still at food republic in vivo at 11am. anyways, we met the rest there, all 8 of us plus bowwow's bf, weejin!

we took the sentosa tram in! its so convenient to get to sentosa now! i like the little blue entry cards now instead of the old white tickets. i took a photo with one of the many red-and-yellow flags along the beach which said 'swim here' cos i m swim. =))
we played volleyball in a circle with our new class volleyball! its a orange nike volleyball which looks like a netball and is quite hard. we were quite rot leh. i realised my reflexes really got much slower. i dunno why. must be sth wrong with my myelin sheath and my neurons. den we played in 2 teams in a court. haha mao was in my team, so we werent too rot. he was the most determined player. he is still as funny as ever!
met lenny, yihan and ck from sheares! so qiao. they came to play with our guys while suan, me, bowwow and jj went to 7-11 to get drinks. we sat under the coconut tree to watch the guys play. den it was lunch time le. haha! think we really lao le. now the girls only want to sit under the coconut tree and chill and tok.
anw, lunch was at sakae sushi. junjia and i shared our fav hana maki. i also had unagi sushi, pumpkin chawanmushi, cha soba, and fried tofu. yumms. lunch @sakae!!
after lunch we just slacked ard for awhile on the beach. suan, yisheng and i sang our hc130 anthems on the beach. haha~ mao said we were weird. den we played in a circle again cos there were no empty courts and we din have the skills to win a court. we were quite nua until out of a sudden we suddenly got high and hit maximum number. think it was 65 times. haha~ we kept laughing and going "yeah, oh yeah, uh-huh, oh yeah, yeahhh". damn funny.
den the guys went to swim, bowwow and weejin went for their 2 pple world and suan, jj and i continued stoning under the coconut tree and watching the volleyball pros there play. they are really super zai! we sat for abt 1 plus hours and the guys were not back yet. haha we thought tt they had started swimming home. so we decided to go and shower first since girls are always slower than guys.
after showering, took the tram out again. nice view at the tram station!
dinner was at marche! junjia, suan and i shared rosti, crepes, seafood rice and fried vege. yay~ after dinner we walked ard vivo for awhile before heading home.

haha yy planned a bball reunion at settlers cafe yesterday. wats supposed to be a full turnout ended up with only 3: me, yy and yueshan. haha~~ old habits nvr change. the bball team has a habit of pangsehing last min or be late for hours. =)) i admire yy's determination though. she is always the one in charge of planning get-togethers etc, and she nvr seems to get discouraged. hah~
3 of us ended up having loads of fun though! haha i kept losing to them in all the reflex games. and i have always thought tt my reflexes are very fast! we played this game called 'ugly doll' in which we had to snatch cards. yy was the big bully. boo!
went for a swim today with jj. lunched @ ajisen, den went off to play with my 2 cousins. haha its the school holidays so amanda is at home too! i watched 'Mr Bean's Holiday' with her and it was the most tiring movie i ever watched. she was asking questions continuously. as in really continuously. i ended up having to think really hard abt even the most minute details in order to answer her. 'why Mr bean sad leh?, where's mr bean's car, where's the chicken, why's it raining?, why mr bean go to the beach?, and blah blah. heh~ even little aloysius chips in with his 'why leh why leh', though i dun tink he has the slightest clue about wats going on in the movie.

finally booked the japan trip last fri. but the tour group is not confirmed yet cos the agency needs 3 more pple to form one group. hope it gets confirmed soon! den we will be leaving on a jet plane on the 8th of july--to the land of the rising sun! yay~ bowwow and i felt so satisfied with ourselves after booking our trip. felt like we finally accomplished sth after putting it off for pretty long. haha so we rewarded ourselves by eating 'gui ling gao' at a shop specially selling 'gui ling gao'. haha i felt like a tai tai. the gui ling gao is supposed to be able to clear toxins in the body and can help keep slim. haha but we din noe its so ex. $5 per bowl!! both of us kept adding the sugar syrup. doubt after adding so much sugar syrup the gui ling gao is still any good for keeping us slim.
watched pirates of the caribbean 3 today with cuixi. haha i still love captain jack sparrow. den we queued for donuts from the donut factory for 2 hours. haha met some medicine pple on the way back and i was so malu-ated cos i was holding like 2 big boxes of donuts. looked like a pizza delivery girl. heh -Shin- 7:58 PM
