been a good girl and helped my mama shop for new year's stuff on friday, the eve of CNY eve. heh we bought lotsa food for steamboat and also other goodies. =)) heh.
anw, at about 1 am at night tt day, when i was buried in my baby moore's chapter on upper limb, my mum rushed into my room and told me tt there was someone going to jump off the building opposite me. gosh my heart almost jumped out of my mouth as i thought tt my mum was the only one who saw the incident. so i immediately sprinted out of my room and asked my mum to call the police.
as i rushed to the window, i saw lotsa civil defence pple already milling ard the area, and they had pumped up this mattress thingy in case the person really jumps off. haha heaved a sigh of relief. my mum always over-exaggerates. from the look on her face earlier, anyone would have thought tt she was the only one who saw the incident. so we stood at the window and watched the whole incident. there were many others watching from their units too, even though it was 1 plus in the morning.
the man was a chinese, and he was sitting on his window with his legs dangling outside. we saw tt civil defence pple were already in the units above and below him. the man kept on wailing things like 'they dun wan me' in mandarin. suddenly, in a flash, the civil defence members from the unit above him slided down to his unit and by force, they pushed him back into his unit. so thankfully the man was saved.
felt quite sad for the man. for the next 2 days his unit was in total darkness, in stark contrast to the brightly lit units ard his, as pple were all home for reunion dinner and CNY. wonder wat exactly could have happened for someone to actually contemplate ending his or her life. i tink no matter wat happens, we should always cherish life cos nothing is hopeless and things will work out if we persevere and not lose hope. =))
